Ukrainian weddings are rich expressions of spiritual life, community relations, and tradition. These elaborate customs are known for their solemnity, balanced with hospitality and joy. Ukrainian weddings are very diverse, changing across time and place.
The Ukrainian Wedding exhibit explores these traditions in four strikingly different places and times: in the classical Ukrainian village; in one Bukovynian village in 1995; in early western Canada; and again in more recent Canadian settings.
