The Surgery Bootcamp will be a 5-day training program designed to introduce students interested in surgery to the diverse facets of surgical science through a hands-on focused approach. Each day unfolds with a focus on different topics, offering a comprehensive understanding of this dynamic field:
July 13: Introduction to Surgery and Hands-On Skills: Students will be introduced to the Department of Surgery and its medical leaders before participating in hands-on workshops focused on essential surgical techniques.
July 14: Operating Room and Aseptic Technique: Students will learn how proper cleaning, sterilization, and aseptic technique help prevent infection in preparation for the operating room.
July 15: Basic Surgical Techniques: Students will practice basic surgical skills and learn the techniques surgeons use to safely perform procedures.
July 16: Hands-On Workshops: Students will take part in interactive workshops that build practical skills and give them a closer look at medical and surgical training.
July 17: Presentations from Distinguished Scientists and Clinicians: Students will hear from experienced scientists and clinicians as they share their research, career paths, and real-world medical experiences.

Program Mission
The Surgery Camps program provides an opportunity for local high school students to explore the exciting world of surgery through hands-on experiences and expert-led sessions. Gain insights into the life of surgeons and engage in surgical research. With a carefully designed curriculum and the support of experienced staff, the Surgery Camps program inspires and empowers the next generation of surgical professionals.
Refund policy:
1. Full Refund minus 3.5% processing fee: If cancellation occurs 4 weeks or more before the start of camp.
2. Partial Refund (75%) minus 3.5% processing fee: If cancellation occurs 2 weeks before the start date (processing fee would be retained).
3. No Refund: If cancellation happens less than a week before the camp begins.
