Exam Extensions & Supplemental Exam Fees
These fees apply to participants who are already registered in the Local Anesthesia program and require an extension or need to retake an exam.

LA Theory Exam Extension Fee: $100
Each extension is valid for 1–3 months. Theory exams are scheduled during the first week of each month. Only two extensions are permitted during the theory course. *an extension allows more time before taking the original exam, while a supplemental is a retake after a failed exam.

LA Theory Supplemental Exam Fee: $200
Only one supplemental exam attempt is allowed. Please email dentce@ualberta.ca for scheduled dates. If a participant fails the supplemental exam, they will be unenrolled from the program and must wait six months before reapplying.

LA Clinical Supplemental Exam Fee: $400
The Clinical Supplemental Exam is scheduled on a Sunday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, typically held within 4 to 6 weeks following the clinical course. Please email dentce@ualberta.ca for scheduled dates. If a participant fails the Clinical Supplemental Exam, they will be required to register for the full Clinical LA course again.
