Perform office-based endometrial biopsy, where appropriate, and understand referral pathways when not feasible.

Initiate advanced management strategies for abnormal uterine bleeding, including insertion of a levonorgestrel intrauterine system (LNG-IUS).
- Integrate risk stratification, symptom severity, and functional impairment into shared decision-making for investigations and treatment planning.
Description:
The purpose of this educational event is to equip family physicians and primary care providers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to competently assess and manage abnormal uterine bleeding, with a focus on ruling out malignancy, identifying pelvic pathology, and initiating appropriate investigations and treatments. The program is designed for clinicians seeking to expand their scope of practice in women’s health, offering practical approaches to history-taking, risk stratification, diagnostic evaluation, and procedural skills such as endometrial biopsy and intrauterine device insertion.NOTE: These events are tailored for clinicians who may not routinely manage abnormal uterine bleeding or perform endometrial biopsies, but who want to build confidence in incorporating these skills into their practice.

If the workshop is cancelled by the Office of Lifelong Learning due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, you will be issued a full refund or have the option of transferring your enrollment to another open session.
