Orientation/Preparation for ACS - NDEB Assessment of Clinical Skills

December 2, 2021

5:00-9:00 PM

Kaye Edmonton clinic 8th Floor - 8A reception

11400 University Ave, Edmonton, AB T6G-1Z1

The University of Alberta Department of Continuing Dental Education is pleased to offer candidates for the Preparation Day for ACS – NDEB Assessment of Clinical Skills and Orientation Session taking place on Thursday December 2, 2021 two days prior to the Assessment of Clinical Skills Evaluation on December 4-5, 2021.

This session allows candidates for the ACS to become familiar with the facility, chairs and units in the clinic and the use of the equipment. This session will allow assurance of handpiece compatibility and candidates will be able to experience the advantages of electric handpieces ahead of the assessment. (Available for use from the School of Dentistry)

Orientation will begin at 5:00PM at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic 8th Floor – 8A reception, where the Orientation & Assessment will take place. The clinical session will take place form 6:00-9:00PM. During this time candidates will utilize their typodonts and equipment and supplies to acclimate themselves to the equipment and surroundings. Please not that this is an Orientation and not an Instructional session.

  • You may fill out an equipment loan agreement after confirmation of attendance if you will be using electric handpieces from the School of Dentistry. (This is encouraged as our units have only one air line for air driven high and slow speed instruments. As an added benefit there is no cost to the candidate if the handpieces are returned free of damage)
  • Participants may also use the amalgamators present in each operatory but all other equipment and supplies including the typodont will be provided by the candidate at the orientation session.
  • Deadline to register is November 29, 2021
  • Cancellation before November 13, 2021 will result in full refund. Cancellation between November 13 and November 30 will result in $100 administration charge. Any cancellation 48 hours prior to event will result in no refund.
  • Note: No access to the clinical facilities will be allowed other than during the Orientation Session and during the Exam.

Please note this is an Orientation session and no instruction will be provided concerning the ACS.
