This 1:1 instructor-student ratio program is designed to determine participant competence in dental hygiene practice and identify areas for additional training or assessment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUpon completion of the program, participants are expected to have been able to demonstrate reflective, ethical professional practice, integrate collaboration and communication with clients, colleagues, and health care providers, show an evidence based approach to the dental hygiene process of care, and demonstrate proficiency within a clinical care context.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eResults of the evaluations are sent to the ACDH for consideration of eligibility for registration for practice. This will be followed by clinical delivery of limited dental hygiene assessments in partners clinic format.  They will move on to an additional simulated instrumentation assessment, completion of a case study, radiographic interpretation, and demonstration of pre-clinical radiographic technique.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFollowing review of evaluations from Day 1 of the program, a summary of results will be sent to the participant and to the Alberta College of Dental Hygienists. This report may include a statement that the participant is eligible to return for additional assessment during a second day of the Clinical Competence Assessment, where they will provide dental hygiene therapy for a client. Alternatively, the statement may include recommendations for \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003efurther clinical learning prior to provision of patient care. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSchedule\u003c\/strong\u003e: 8:00 am to 4:45 pm (1-hour lunch break)\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eDay 2: Patient Care Clinical Assessment\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFollowing review of evaluations, an additional day of the program will be scheduled for individuals who are eligible for further assessment.
